We really enjoyed our stay at the Silken Coliseum! We had a junior suite and the room was wonderful and really big, with lots of windows, a comfortable bed, and great amenities including slippers and robes. The A/C and wifi worked perfectly! The staff was helpful throughout our stay; we particularly appreciated that they stored our luggage for us after checkout, but before our 3 pm bus departure, so we could enjoy a last few hours around the city. Regarding location, I used to live in Santander in this area, which this is in the center of town. It is very convenient for restaurants and shopping, as well as close to the bus and train stations, but it is further from the beaches. If you're looking to explore, get a grey TUS bus card from one of the estancos (tobacco stores). Then from the Correos bus stop (a very short walk from the hotel), take the 1, 2, 4, 11, or 13 bus lines up to the beaches and the Magdalena peninsula. This way you can get all the benefits of this location but still enjoy the beach!

We liked the location of the hotel and the parking underground which was secure. The room was big enough for 3 people, the beds were comfy and the bathroom was well sized. The staff were very friendly at all points of contact and a credit to the hotel. As we had our own car we visit Palacio de la Maddalena which was about 15 minutes away, lovely large park area and historical palace. We also visited Santillana del Marl which was an old style laid out town, church and torture museum which is well worth visiting.

Absolutely everything was superb, but the staff were exceedingly professional and kind. I needed minor medical attention on arriving at the hotel and the Reception staff were so caring and attentive. I was on my own. I was given a Junior Suite for my one night stay with compliments of the hotel. The next morning, the Reception staff, although different to my arrival, enquired of my wellness and were again very attentive. They made sure my taxi arrived on time and checked my departure was in the correct taxi.

The location of the hotel is excellent for our first trip to visit Santander and have recommended others to use this doing the same trip we did. The hotel were very gracious in holding onto our bags when we arrived early after our flight and called me to let us know when the room was ready for check-in and also gracious enough to hold onto our bags after check-out until our transfer back to the airport arrived allowing us baggage free time before going home, thank you

Eileen

My room was very clean and most importantly quiet. It had a nice view of the street out the front. There was plenty of hot water and lovely, big fluffy towels. The location was good. Not far from train and bus station but also close to bars, bakeries and shops. The cafeteria had a nice server, Carmen. The housemaid was pleasant. Staff at reception were helpful Lighting in room was very good. Plenty of space, good wardrobe.
